Bill-asphemy: Does Maher Deserve A Whipping For Slandering God?

Bill Maher Should Be Publicly Whipped For His Blasphemy SUBMITTED BY Kyle Mantyla on Friday, 3/28/2014
In a new column posted on Matt Barber's BarbWire website, Tristan Emmanuel calls for the reinstatement of blasphemy laws in order to punish Bill Maher for his recent comments about God. In a piece entitled "Does Maher Deserve A Whipping For Slandering God?," Emmanuel says there was a time when people like Maher were publicly whipped and physically punished for saying such things and argues that it is time for Christians to demand the reinstatement of such laws before God releases His wrath upon the entire nation for tolerating such blasphemy:

Armed Angry White Males the New Domestic Terrorists

Armed Angry White Males the New Domestic Terrorists via Truthout by Wilmer J. Leon III, March 20, 2014.

"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania, and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. . . . And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
- Senator Barack Obama, April 6, 2008

"...It is my contention that the recent murders of Trayvon Martin and Jordan Davis should not be viewed as isolated incidents; they did not occur in a vacuum. They are part of a larger murderous American historical continuum. At the heart of this murderous continuum are race and xenophobia (a fear of others) and a violent reaction to those fears. To many in the dominant culture, their America is changing. The "browning" of America has evoked a return and acceptance of the murderous continuum. Former Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo best expressed this sentiment when he proclaimed: "I want my country back."

Conceal Carry permits, Stand Your Ground laws and inept prosecutors are creating a climate that provides the Zimmermans and Dunns of the world with a license to kill as long as juries are predisposed to letting them do so.
As the American economy continues to contract and full-time, well-paying jobs become harder to find, the face of poverty in America is changing. The stereotypical "urban" or "black" poor have now become the "suburban" or white poor. According to CBS, "Hardship is particularly growing among whites, based on several measures . . . More than 19 million whites fall below the poverty line . . . accounting for more than 41 percent of the nation's destitute, nearly double the number of poor blacks."

According to the Christian Science Monitor, "Suburbs are increasingly becoming the address of America's poor. Suburban poverty across the country grew 53 percent between 2000 and 2010, more than twice the rate of urban poverty . . . " Many of those newly poor suburbanites are white and many of them are angry, blaming people of color for their misfortunes, instead of directing their ire toward corporate greed, the outsourcing of factory jobs to overseas companies, and governmental policies that favor the wealthy.

Senator Obama's assessment in 2008 was historically accurate and more prophetic than pundits and commentators have been willing to give him credit for. Armed angry white males like George Zimmerman and Michael Dunn have been operating in our midst for centuries. Their actions are not new; the lack of analysis of them in the context of terrorism is not surprising. The narrative has to change, and we must engage in a broader discussion of them as the new domestic terrorists."

FRC Hot Mic: Boykin Jokes about Jews, Says Obama Supports Al Qaeda, Sends Them Subliminal Messages | Hatewatch and More...

Retired General Boykin who has said that when Jesus returns he will be packing an AK47 has once again made some outrageous comments.

FRC Hot Mic: Boykin Jokes about Jews, Says Obama Supports Al Qaeda, Sends Them Subliminal Messages | Hatewatch

)

The Family Research Council’s executive vice president, Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin (retired), was caught on a “hot mic” following a panel yesterday at the National Security Action Summit, which was held just down the street from the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). Boykin could be heard, in an awkward attempt at humor, telling a reporter from Israel that “Jews are the problem” and the “cause of all the problems in the world.” Boykin told another reporter that President Obama identifies with and supports Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood and uses subliminal messages to express this support.
...Boykin has a history of making odd and outlandish comments about Jews, Muslims, Obama and much more. Boykin has said that Jews must be converted to Christianity and believes that American Jews don’t understand Hitler and support Democrats as a result. He has also argued that Obama is using theAffordable Care Act to create a Hitler-style Brownshirt army to force Marxism on America.
Boykin is best known for his animus against Muslims. He has argued that the First Amendment does not apply to Islam. He has also said that Christians must go on offense against Islam, there should be no more mosques built in America and there can be no interfaith dialogue between Christians and Muslims. Not surprisingly, Boykin’s military career was derailed by his anti-Muslim advocacy, earning him a rebuke from President George W. Bush and a Pentagon investigation that found he had violated military rules.
Yesterday’s hot mic audio demonstrates, yet again, that Boykin’s outrageous comments over the years were not misstatements. He honestly believes this stuff. Now consider the fact that he once served as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence and is still viewed as a credible expert on terrorism by Republican members of the House Armed Services Committee. No matter your politics, Boykin has no place in a reality-based foreign policy.

RWW News: Fischer Says The Fight Against Homosexuality Is The Defining Battle of Our Time, Rightwing Watch, March 6, 2014

Bryan Fischer threw down the gauntlet on his radio program today, declaring the fight against homosexuality to be the defining battle of our time.

Asserting that America's future will be determined by "whether the forces of light or darkness will prevail in the battle over special rights based on sexually deviant behavior," Fischer asserted that "everywhere that Big Gay gains ground, Christ is forced into retreat."

As such, everything hinges on this battle and if the "forces of sexual normalcy" win, then America will once again become a beacon of morality and decency for the entire world. But, Fischer warned, "if the forces of sexual deviancy prevail ... every part of our culture will be corrupted, it will be contaminated beyond repair and America ... will plunge the world into a moral abyss of darkness and depravity":

As an article at the Southern Poverty Law Center points out these attacks on the LGBT community is part of an attack on the basic notions of Civil Rights. The right believes they should be allowed to discriminate against individuals or groups they don't like including gays and minorities and non-Christians or people who dress differently or what have you. They appear to believe that it was wrong to pass laws preventing businesses from refusing to serve African-Americans and so they extend this to gays and others.

Behind the ‘Religious Freedom’ Attacks on Gay Rights Lurks a Broad Attack on Civil Rights
By David Neiwert on February 28, 2014, Southern Poverty Law Center

...Fairly typical of the language of these proposals is that found in the Idaho legislation, which permits businesses to avoid penalties for “declining to provide or participate in any service that violates the person’s sincerely held religious beliefs or exercise of religion.”

This kind of language would “empower businesses to invoke religion to discriminate,” says Daniel Mach, director of the ACLU’s Program on Freedom of Religion and Belief. “This wave of legislation does seem to be a reaction to an expansion of LGBT rights, among others.”

But defenders of the laws deny this is the case. Ryan T. Anderson at the Heritage Foundation insists the only issue at stake is “liberty”: “While the government must treat everyone equally, private actors are left free to make reasonable judgments and distinctions — including reasonable moral judgments and distinctions — in their economic activities. Not every florist need provide wedding arrangements for every ceremony. Not every photographer need capture every first kiss. Competitive markets can best harmonize a range of values that citizens hold.”

The legislation universally features language referring to the “substantial burden” imposed on businesses by anti-discrimination laws. That in turn indicates that legislators are tying their hopes to its ultimate success to other cases involving similar principles — in this case, efforts to overturn the mandate on businesses imposed by the Affordable Care Act’s provisions to provide contraception to women. Notably, Hobby Lobby is seeking to overturn that rule on the basis of the claim that it imposes a “substantial burden” on its religious beliefs.

CPAC: Death Squads, Green Eggs and Ham, Browning of America and the Homosexual Agenda

Sarah Palin Reads Dr Seuss. Sarah Palin Reads / Remakes Green Eggs And Ham

Palin manages to mangle Green Eggs and Ham misses the point of the ending that once the character tries Green Eggs and Ham he likes them. So if Palin and others tried Obamacare they might like it .

"Sarah Palin parodies “Green Eggs and Ham,” gets standing ovation
While conservatives laughed with her, liberals laughed at her" Salon.com,March 9, 2014

" The GOP’s in-house poet laureate and stand-up comic Sarah Palin unironically wowed a crowd at CPAC with her rendition of Dr. Suess’s “Green Eggs and Ham,” an homage to Sen. Ted Cruz’s non-filibuster filibuster from late 2013. While Cruz recited the story to an empty room, however, Palin invigorated about 3,000 people. Palin spiced the “bedtime story” — a book about overcoming bias and self-discovery — up “a bit” with conservative rhetoric about Obamacare, congress and the media:

I do not like this Uncle Sam. I do not like his healthcare scam.
I do not like these dirty crooks or how they lie and cook the books.
I do not like when Congress steals. I do not like their crony deals.
I do not like this spying, man. I do not like ‘Oh, yes we can.’
I do not like this spending spree. We’re smart, we know there’s nothing free.
I do not like reporters’ smug replies when I complain about their lies.
I do not like this kind of hope, and we won’t take it, nope, nope, nope. "

Ann Coulter spews more hatred and ignorance at CPAC attacking immigrants and poor women. She calls giving amnesty to illegal immigrants as part of the liberal plot of the browning of America . She fears that these immigrants in the coming decades as US citizens will cut off social security for white seniors. She argues Democrats are only interested in amnesty for illegals to expand their electoral base.

“We’ve got to…make it clear that if you pass amnesty…you’re going on to the death squad," Coulter tells CPAC, March 8, 2014

Coulter at CPAC over the weekend is quoted by Salon.com saying " Conservatives should “make it clear” to Republicans that if they “pass amnesty,” they’re “going on to the death squad with the people who wrecked America...”
So she is calling for the murder of those she believes have or are responsible for supposedly wrecking America.

and about the poor she had this to say : " and the poor (“it’s a cruel and Selfish thing…for the upper classes…to refuse to tell poor people ‘keep your knees together before you’re married – that would solve so many of life’s problems.’”)"

Creation Museum To Spend 73 million On Noah's Ark Exhibit

Photo of proposed Noah's Ark exhibit at the Creation Museum

Christian group behind controversial Creationist Museum to build 800-acre theme park with replica Noah’s Ark The Independent.co.uk Feb. 28.2014

The Christian group behind a controversial Creationist Museum in Kentucky has announced that it has sufficient funds to begin construction on an Old Testament theme park, based around a 510ft replica of Noah’s Ark.

The 800-acre “Ark Encounter” park would also feature a recreation of a pre-Flood village, a “Tower of Babel” containing an audio-visual effects theatre, and a theme park ride through the 10 plagues of Egypt. The biblical vessel would be the largest timber-framed structure in the US. Officials say they intend to break ground in May, and that the park will open to the public in 2016.

Ken Ham, president of the group Answers in Genesis and founder of the Creation Museum, wrote on his website that “God has burdened AiG to rebuild a full-size Noah’s Ark.” Yet after plans for the park were first unveiled in 2010, fundraising proved to be a challenge. The project is expected to cost more than $120m (£72m) in total, and needs at least $70m to complete its first phase. The ark alone will cost $24.5m to construct...

Creation Museum founder Ken Ham announced Thursday that enough money had been raised to begin construction of a 510-foot replica of Noah's Ark as part of a multimillion-dollar Ark Encounter project. Huffington Post, march 4,2014

Unintended but foreseeable consequences of debating with the enemy when the enemy is entrenched believes with absolute religious certainty.

Thanks to Bill Nye, Creationists Raised Enough Money to Build an Anti-Science Theme Park
The science guy won a debate—and subsidized the enemy New Republic.com,March 4, 2014

I’m not saying “I told you so” (in fact I am, of course), but the main upshot of the Bill Nye/Ken Ham debate appears to have tipped the final balance in favor of Ham.

The debate, as you’ll recall, was held in Kentucky’s Creation Museum, was on the validity of creationism as a model of biological origins and diversity, and the proceeds from the DVDs went to Ham and other creationists.

Now, according to the Guardian and other venues, Ham has announced that proceeds from the debate have apparently revived the dormant “Ark Park” project, which will contain a “life-sized” replica of Noah’s Ark.

This is precisely what I predicted in a pre-debate post on January 5, “Ark Park near collapse; will Bill Nye help finance it?” At the time I wrote this:

What outweighs everything, though, is the possibility that Nye will lose by simply showing up, and thereby raising big bucks for the Creation Museum or the troubled Ark Park. And no matter what he says, or how good he is, if he is raising money that helps promulgate lies to the children he loves, Nye is making a very serious mistake.

The Ark Park had been in financial trouble because people weren’t buying its bonds, but if Ham isn’t lying—and one has to worry about that given his creationist mission—the debate got the needed interest to revive the park.

Backlash Over Arizona's Anti-Gay Bill

From The Christian Science Monitor article and video:

The veto of Arizona's anti-Gay bill is welcomed at the same time there is the question of how homophobic Arizona still is since the bill managed to get passed by the legislature. As we also see Arizona is one of the few states which allows for discrimination against members of the GLBT community they can be fired from their jobs just for their sexual orientation and as couples denied various government services and employer benefits and tax breaks which are granted to hetereosexual couples hetereosexual couples are given adoption preference over gay couples and so on. So things are far from progressive in Arizona when it comes to the rights of members of the GLBT community.

Arizona vote moves gay rights into the mainstream (+video) Why did Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer veto a 'religious rights' bill? The gay rights movement’s allies now include Chambers of Commerce, major businesses, and Republican lawmakers.By Brad Knickerbocker, Staff writer / March 1, 2014

...The outcome in Arizona showed “there are economic consequences to discrimination,” Todd Sears, a former investment banker and the founder of initiatives focused on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) equality in business, told Politico.

“You’re seeing corporations weighing in on the side of LGBT inclusion and social justice in a way that you would not have seen 10, 15, 20 years ago,” Mr. Sears said. “This is about good business and discrimination and helping our employees be better at their jobs.”

It was a message quickly heard and acted upon by officials in other states considering similar “religious rights” legislation.

The president of the Kansas Senate announced this week that his chamber would not take up a similar bill in the Kansas House, the Washington Post reported, and Ohio legislators withdrew their measure.

Lawmakers in South Dakota and Utah tabled bills similar to Arizona’s, and a bill in Georgia is unlikely to make it out of committee. The sponsor of Tennessee's bill withdrew his sponsorship in early February.

Meanwhile, a federal judge in Texas ruled against that state’s ban on same-sex marriage. That makes six states where judges have so ruled. (The others are Virginia, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Utah, and California.)

Today, same-sex marriages are legal in 17 states and the District of Columbia. Given public opinion polls showing a majority of Americans – including a large majority of younger voters – now approving gay marriage, it seems likely that the number of such states will increase.

While conservative churches and political organizations have fought that trend, a new study of public attitudes over the past decade indicates the challenges to that cause.

“In the decade since Massachusetts became the first state to legalize same-sex marriage, Americans’ support for allowing gay and lesbian people to legally wed has jumped 21 percentage points, from 32 percent in 2003 to 53 percent in 2013, transforming the American religious landscape,” the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) reported this week.

A history of hate: 4 ways anti-LGBTQ discrimination is still completely legal in Arizona SB 1062 may be dead, but discrimination against LGBTQ people is still the law of the land in Arizona
KATIE MCDONOUGH, Salon.com, Feb. 27, 2014

Criticism of the bill reached a fever pitch this week, which perhaps makes this a good time to look at existing laws in Arizona that do very similar things to what this measure would have done. The bill may be dead, but LGBTQ rights are still precarious in the state. Discrimination of the sort sanctioned by SB 1062 is still in many ways perfectly legal in Arizona. (And while Arizona is the chosen object of scrutiny in this piece, it’s important to note that these problems exist across the country and also stem from a lack of federal protections against LGTBQ discrimination. Get it together, America.)

Homophobic Defenders of Arizona Anti-Gay Bill

CNN commentator to Ken Cuccinelli: You are a homophobe via Salon.com,Feb. 26,2014
"I would say that you, personally, are probably a homophobe," said LZ Granderson to the Virginia attorney general

As attorney general of Virginia, Ken Cuccinelli fought long and hard to reinstate an unconstitutional law banning consensual sodomy in the state. Defending his record as a state senator who routinely opposed basic legal protections for LGBTQ people, Cuccinelli explained, “My view is that homosexual acts, not homosexuality, but homosexual acts are wrong. They’re intrinsically wrong. And I think in a natural law based country it’s appropriate to have policies that reflect that.” He believes that letting gay adults get married “harms children,” and that the “homosexual agenda” (presumably he means the movement to gain equal rights for LGBTQ individuals and families) “brings nothing but self-destruction, not only physically but of their soul.”

Cuccinelli is, in short, a homophobe.

Which is precisely what CNN commentator LZ Granderson told him to his face on Tuesday night.

Politics Nation with Al Sharpton

So it is not surprising that those on the extreme right are not bothered by reality

since they adhere to an alternate reality in which the evil Secular Humanists and

Liberals etc. are involved in a conspiracy to destroy Christian America. So they see

Gay rights as part of an attack on Christianity and America's traditions, culture

and values which they believe are Bible based. So those in favor of Gay rights for

example are part of this larger conspiracy or have been duped by the propaganda and

lies of the Secular Humanists. The fight they are involved in is a spiritual battle

of Good versus evil and they see themselves as on the side of God and set backs in

their agenda are either a test from God of their resolve or as the work of Demonic

forces.
