President Obama Ignores Bahrain's Brutal Crackdown & It's Targeting Of Medical Personnel

USA & West Ignore Bahrain human rights violations-killings, torture etc.

It is difficult and a bit disingenuous for the USA or UK to criticize Bahrain and other countries when they themselves have been involved in assassinations, disappearing people ,still using harsh Interrogation Techniques which are in fact forms of torture.

Meanwhile the USA's forces instead of capturing and incarcerating Osama Bin Laden instead it is being alleged executed him that is murdered bin Laden thereby contravening international Law. So much for President Obama's respect for the Rule of Law.

President Obama has said publicly that incarcerated alleged whistleblower Bradley Manning is guilty even though he has not been given a trial so he is still as far as we know being abused in a U.S.prison. And besides these examples we know that the USA is still running dozens of secret prisons where prisoners are being denied their rights and being abused and tortured.

And the Obama administration like the UK administration is dismissive of Human rights organizations from the Red Cross ICRC to Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch Physicians For Human Rights and journalists who dare criticize either regime. So Obama continues with the Bush mindset of seeing itself as the only real victim.

Obama MIA refuses to publicly denounce the Bahraini government or Saudi troops for their draconian crackdown on protesters.

Bahrain arrest and beats up doctors who helped wounded protesters
Now they are putting some 47 medical personnel on trial for giving medical assistance to wounded protesters.
Obama and Clinton still claiming that the brutal attacks on protesters and Medical personnel is a domestic affair.
Yet the Geneva Conventions would call Bahrain's attacks, arrest and incarceration of medical personnel for doing their duty a war crime.

President Obama and his administration would prefer the Media not to report crimes committed by any country which the U.S. sees as an ally.
So according to their form of doublethink we can criticize Qaddafi but not the actions of the governments of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Syria , Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan or Afghanistan and so forth.

Physicians Urge Obama Admin to Pressure Bahrain to End Repression of Doctors, Patients
Democracy Now! May 7, 2011.

"The Gulf nation of Bahrain has announced that 47 medical workers who treated pro-democracy protesters during the nation's popular uprising will be tried before a military court on charges of acting against the state. Some could face the death penalty for providing medical assistance to protesters. Human rights groups say the arrests are part of a campaign of intimidation that runs directly counter to the Geneva Convention, which guarantees medical care to people wounded in conflict. We speak with Richard Sollom of Physicians for Human Rights. He recently traveled to Bahrain to document the situation there and is the co-author of a new report, "Do No Harm: A Call for Bahrain to End Systematic Attacks on Doctors and Patients."
