5years ago they began by funding Americans For Prosperity and have been pouring money into it and related astroturf/ pseudo grass roots pro-Big Business, anti-taxation of the wealthiest 2 % of Americans. They have not stopped there but have extended their protest to attack Obama as a "socialist " and or "Communist" as not being a "Real American" and questioning his US citizenship and pushing the notion that Obama is a secret Muslim who is part of a Muslim World Wide Conspiracy to conquer America and other Western Nations to make them into Islamic states which would enforce the most extreme forms of Sharia Islamic Law.The Tea Party has also shown a great deal of tolerance towards participants who are racist, anti-immigrant, anti-Muslims and anti-government.

Odd that anyone would be surprised at how acceptable Muslim hating and bashing has become for many politicians and Media personalities and a large portion of American citizens.
