FBI Raids Christian Militia Jihadist As Tea Party Republican Movement Heighten ItsWar-Like Rhetoric

Christian Militia Group Screenshot of their web homepage Hutaree.com

On their website the Hutaree Christian Militia group spells out their intentions to be ready to go to war with the Anti-Christ whom they now identify as President Barack Obama. Given all of the hyped up vile vicious and violent rhetoric on the part of the Republican Tea Partiers we shouldn't be surprised if such groups on the margins such as the Hutaree begin to make themselves ready for civil unrest in the USA . They combine the language of revolutionaries and insurrection with supposedly proof text from the Bible to sell their mission to Americans .

"The Hutaree will one day see its enemy and meet him on the battlefield if so God wills it. We will reach out to those who are yet blind in the last days of the kingdoms of men and bring them to life in Christ. Daniel 11:32-35, “Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. 33, “And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering. 34, “Now when they fall, they shall be aided with a little help; but many shall join them by intrigue. 35 “And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time.”

Finally the FBI and other policing agencies are keeping an eye on any or all violent organizations whether on the right or left and those Extremists whether they espouse Christian or Islamic or other religious beliefs. So what will the right make of all of this -possibly arguing the FBI is just being politically correct going after anti-Muslim organizations to appease the Muslim American community while (so they claim) having a hands off policy regarding Extremist Muslim Militias. But whatever spin they decide upon promoted by Glenn Beck and others their followers will believe it no matter how divorced from reality. Glenn Beck and The Republican Tea Partiers have little use for fact based reality it is in their views all a matter of perception. They argue that President Obama is a Usurper who won the election through fraud or some sort of mysterious mass hypnosis Svengali type trick and they still have doubts about his citizenship.

Glenn Beck and other spokespersons for the Republican Tea Partiers claim that President Obama and his administration which they characterize as being filled with Marxist, Maoists & other socialists is the final stage in a fifty year old or 150 year old leftist Marxist Progressive conspiracy to take over America. FOX News and Rupert Murdoch can themselves be characterized as doing all they can to get Americans ready for civil unrest, insurrection or Coup d'Etat to remove President Obama from office or find some other means to neutralize Obama and his administration.

Given their heightened rhetoric it is anyone's guess what these extremist will do next. They may sooner or later take matters to the next level of violence. as Chris Hedges argues they may not stop at mere name calling and tossing bricks through windows or cutting gas lines or breaking into the offices of their targeted enemies.

After a week of heightened violent rhetoric on the part of the Republican Tea Party movement as if to illustrate the seriousness of threats against the Obama administration and the US government the FBI raids a Christian Militia group that believes that America is on the verge of a civil war . This group has an apocalyptic view.

GRITTV Laura Flanders discusses the War like rhetoric of Glenn Beck & The Tea Party Republican Movement. It may be the same old right wing rhetoric but there are those who will take this rhetoric literally and as a very real call to arms by so called "Real Americans"

"In order to respond, alas, we have to understand, and that means going through the looking glass."

So wrote Richard Kim of the tea party movement's latest bogeyman--the Cloward-Piven strategy, which demagogues like Glenn Beck proclaim is the strategy for destroying America and putting in place totalitarian socialism. It sounds ridiculous, Richard notes, and that's precisely why it has such power.

He joins us in studio to explain where this grand conspiracy theory came from, and how it plays into larger threads within the rise of the organized, angry right under the Obama administration.

Chris Hedges in this article argues that America is on the road to fascism. He accuses the middle class, liberals, academics etc. of not doing enough to make real substantive changes to the American system of governance which has been hijacked by the Corporate elite and special interests. He also attacks liberals for being overly concerned about Political Correctness rather than real change.

Is America ‘Yearning For Fascism?’By Chris Hedges via Information Clearing House

March 29, 2010 "TruthDig" -- The language of violence always presages violence. I watched it in war after war from Latin America to the Balkans. The impoverishment of a working class and the snuffing out of hope and opportunity always produce angry mobs ready to kill and be killed. A bankrupt, liberal elite, which proves ineffectual against the rich and the criminal, always gets swept aside, in times of economic collapse, before thugs and demagogues emerge to play to the passions of the crowd. I have seen this drama. I know each act. I know how it ends. I have heard it in other tongues in other lands. I recognize the same stock characters, the buffoons, charlatans and fools, the same confused crowds and the same impotent and despised liberal class that deserves the hatred it engenders.

..The Democrats and their liberal apologists are so oblivious to the profound personal and economic despair sweeping through this country that they think offering unemployed people the right to keep their unemployed children on their nonexistent health care policies is a step forward. They think that passing a jobs bill that will give tax credits to corporations is a rational response to an unemployment rate that is, in real terms, close to 20 percent. They think that making ordinary Americans, one in eight of whom depends on food stamps to eat, fork over trillions in taxpayer dollars to pay for the crimes of Wall Street and war is acceptable. They think that the refusal to save the estimated 2.4 million people who will be forced out of their homes by foreclosure this year is justified by the bloodless language of fiscal austerity. The message is clear. Laws do not apply to the power elite. Our government does not work. And the longer we stand by and do nothing, the longer we refuse to embrace and recognize the legitimate rage of the working class, the faster we will see our anemic democracy die.

When someone like Palin posts a map with cross hairs on the districts of Democrats, when she says "Don't Retreat, Instead-RELOAD!" there are desperate people cleaning their weapons who listen. When Christian fascists stand in the pulpits of megachurches and denounce Barack Obama as the Antichrist, there are messianic believers who listen. When a Republican lawmaker shouts "baby killer" at Michigan Democrat Bart Stupak, there are violent extremists who see the mission of saving the unborn as a sacred duty. They have little left to lose. We made sure of that. And the violence they inflict is an expression of the violence they endure.

These movements are not yet full-blown fascist movements. They do not openly call for the extermination of ethnic or religious groups. They do not openly advocate violence. But, as I was told by Fritz Stern, a scholar of fascism who has written about the origins of Nazism, "In Germany there was a yearning for fascism before fascism was invented." It is the yearning that we now see, and it is dangerous. If we do not immediately reincorporate the unemployed and the poor back into the economy, giving them jobs and relief from crippling debt, then the nascent racism and violence that are leaping up around the edges of American society will become a full-blown conflagration.

and so it goes,
GORD.
