Mr. Prince's employees openly and consistently used racist and derogatory terms for Iraqis and other Arabs, such as "ragheads" or "hajiis."
That Erik Prince may have been involved in murders of people cooperating with investigations of his company isn't as important as the fact that if this is true he murdered because he felt compelled by a higher power to do so.

Anyway it appears Erik Prince's Blackwater mercenaries were just an extension of Bush's Crusade to destroy Islam & had little to do with Saddam or Iraq being an imminent threat to the United States. The irony as it were is that before the unnecessary invasion and brutal and criminal occupation of Iraq the country a secular state with little sectarian religious violence. For instance Iraqi women had more rights and freedom before the invasion but now those rights and freedoms are being stripped away by religious extremists. This in a sense is a natural consequence when a country is completely decimated by an invading army and its institutions and culture are destroyed. At such times it is easier for extremists to take power .

Will Obama once again forgive the CIA and Blackwater aka XE Services because Erik Prince acted out of Good Faith and with Good Intentions ie to kill evil Muslims even if unarmed, to torture and abuse detainees, or just a good old American trying to make a living and to build up his corporation at any costs and without any regulations or oversight.
The mainstream media in the US has treated Erik Prince as if he were some kind selfless altruistic hero rather than just another greedy businessman with an eye on bigger and bigger profits.
It reminds me of the way Americans turned the corrupt Ollie North during the Iran-Contra scandal. He and the media depicted him as a loyal patriotic American even though what he was doing was illegal and made him into a common criminal. It never occurred to him to question his commanders which according to military law and principles he should have .
But Americans in general believe that whatever the Commander in Chief asks one to do it is one's duty to do it as if he were the Führer from drug-running to arming mercenaries in El Salvador to murder and rape of innocent citizens and pillage whole villages in Nicaragua .
In a similar fashion Americans turned the mass-murderer Lt. Calais who butchered several hundred villagers including several infants at Mylai into one of America's greatest heroes to take part in the Vietnam War.
As we know Republicans and even many Democrats don't like all those pesky regulations and oversight which only undermine the entrepreneurial spirit. Besides most Americans see nothing wrong with killing 600,000 to one million or more Iraqis since they are a bunch of anti-Christian anti-American anti-God brutes who are working for the Anti-Christ or Satan himself.
I do believe that this is the attitude of a significant proportion of Americans especially the Evangelical Fundamentalist who see the War On Terror as a good thing because to them it means the End-Times are near & Jesus is about to return. So to them the more violence and chaos and war in the world the better.

"What the agency was doing with Blackwater scares the hell out of me," said Jack Rice, a former CIA field operator who worked for the directorate of operations, which runs covert paramilitary activities for the CIA. "When the agency actually cedes all oversight and power to a private organization, an organization like Blackwater, most importantly they lose control and don't understand what's going on," Rice told The Nation. "What makes it even worse is that you then can turn around and have deniability. They can say, 'It wasn't us, we weren't the ones making the decisions.' That's the best of both worlds. It's analogous to what we hear about torture that was being done in the name of Americans, when we simply handed somebody over to the Syrians or the Egyptians or others and then we turn around and say, 'We're not torturing people.'"
"What we know now, if this is true, is that Blackwater was part of the highest level, the innermost circle strategizing and exercising strategy within the Bush administration," Schakowsky told The Nation. "Erik Prince operated at the highest and most secret level of the government. Clearly Prince was more trusted than the US Congress because Vice President Cheney made the decision not to brief Congress. This shows that there was absolutely no space whatsoever between the Bush administration and Blackwater."
As The Nation has reported, Blackwater continues to operate on the US government payroll in both Iraq and Afghanistan, where it works for the State Department and the Defense Department. The CIA will not confirm whether Blackwater continues to work for the agency (or, for that matter, if it ever has).

WASHINGTON — The Central Intelligence Agency in 2004 hired outside contractors from the private security contractor Blackwater USA as part of a secret program to locate and assassinate top operatives of Al Qaeda, according to current and former government officials.
Executives from Blackwater, which has generated controversy because of its aggressive tactics in Iraq, helped the spy agency with planning, training and surveillance. The C.I.A. spent several million dollars on the program, which did not successfully capture or kill any terrorist suspects.
The fact that the C.I.A. used an outside company for the program was a major reason that Leon E. Panetta, the C.I.A.’s director, became alarmed and called an emergency meeting in June to tell Congress that the agency had withheld details of the program for seven years, the officials said.
It is unclear whether the C.I.A. had planned to use the contractors to actually capture or kill Qaeda operatives, or just to help with training and surveillance in the program. American spy agencies have in recent years outsourced some highly controversial work, including the interrogation of prisoners. But government officials said that bringing outsiders into a program with lethal authority raised deep concerns about accountability in covert operations.

-- Hats off to Mark Mazzetti of the New York Times for ferreting out what it was that sent CIA Director Leon Panetta scurrying over to Congress in late June.
According to Mazzetti, Panetta's top lieutenants, many of them holdovers from the last administration, had just told him that, under President Bush, they had farmed out assassinations to their Blackwater subsidiary. I use "they" advisedly, since the CIA holdovers that had kept Panetta in the dark continue to function as Panetta's top managers.
Panetta abruptly stopped the project and contritely briefed the intelligence committees. Until now, it was not clear what had prompted Panetta to set up hurried consultations with the intelligence "oversight" committees of the House and Senate.
An odd odor still hangs over the affair. After being briefed by Panetta, one committee member described him as "stunned" that his lingering lieutenants had kept information on the program from him until nearly five months into his tenure. Yet there is not the faintest hint that anyone on either committee dared to ask why Panetta continues to leave such tainted officials in very senior positions.

The New York Times reported Friday that the company that used to be known as Blackwater has taken over from the Central Intelligence Agency the job of arming the agency's Predator drones that patrol over Afghanistan.
Contractors for Blackwater, now formally known as Xe (pronounced Zee) Services, assemble and load Hellfire missiles and laser-guided bombs onto the pilotless aircraft in secret bases in Afghanistan and neighboring Pakistan, the Times reported. Although CIA employees fire the drones' weaponry from the agency's headquarters in Langley, Va., the Times reports this development reflects how much the agency "now depends on outside contractors to perform some of the agency’s most important assignments."
