Obama Is In and Bush is out- Time For War Crime Trials and a Review of Their LIes and Propaganda & Media Complicity

935 Lies the Bush/Cheney Cabal or Cult need to answer for- see below-

US WAR CRIMINALS-

Great Moments of the Bush Regime on Youtube etc. Time to say goodbye to the Bush/Cheney Cabal . Time for President Obama to overhaul much of the government and get it back on track. But lest we forget the crimes and misdemeanors of the Bush Regime still need to be part of the discourse and not merely swept under the rug or tossed down the Memory Hole. These were not merely the result of honest mistakes or poor decisions about policies.

Taking America to War under false pretenses in itself is a serious crime which abused the trust of the American people. In the International sphere the invasion of Iraq was a War of Aggression which is a crime which is spelled out in the Geneva Conventions and other International Agreements. Bush and his gang of thugs must be made in some fashion to answer for these crimes even it were merely to mean cutting off their pensions and other benefits. But if they go before an International Court for their crimes then we should expect long prison sentences where they can contemplate what they did wrong though it is doubtful that they would ever truly feel any guilt about what they did. Even now Bush and Cheney are unrepentant and even joke about it all the deaths of 4,000 Americans is not something they bother to think about. Besides as they all say they had some Good Times at The White House .

It also needs to be reiterated that in their invasion of Iraq the American forces under the guidance of President Bush committed various other war crimes from the bombing of infrastructure to not taking full responsibility for keeping public order after they invaded. The American forces stood by and allowed the looting of public buildings except for " the Oil Ministry ". American forces then abused and tortured people who were captured or arrested in Iraq. These detainees were denied their basic rights under the Geneva Conventions. The numbers of Iraqis detained in this way over the period of the occupation is well over 20,000. Meanwhile US forces were issued orders ( or commanding officers turned a blind eye) in which they showed little concern for Iraqi Citizens who were non-combatants. It was not just a matter of " A Few Bad Apples " at Abu Ghraib " but part of a policy which went beyond Abu Ghraib to other prisons in Iraq and abuses occurred on a routine basis we are told all over Iraq where soldiers were told again and again that all Iraqis were their enemy or potential enemy. These feelings were expressed from the top brass on down in one form or another to such an extent that it created a poisonous atmosphere in which average soldiers came to believe that they should shoot first and ask questions later. Large parts of Iraq we are told became "Free-Fire Zones and whole cities could be reduced to rubble and ashes in which the commanders saw little difference between the insurgents and the ordinary Iraqi citizen.( Fallujah Najaf etc. )

Fallujah after American Attack

see:
Global Policy .org Siege Tactics and Attacks on Population Centers

The US-led Multinational Force in Iraq has conducted a number of attacks on population centers, resulting in many civilian casualties and massive destruction of the urban physical infrastructure. In addition to the two major offensives on Fallujah in 2004, there have also been assaults on other cities and towns including al-Qaim, Tal Afar, Samarra, Najaf and Ramadi, considered by occupation forces as "insurgent strongholds." Attacking forces typically seal off the entire urban area, using siege tactics that are explicitly prohibited under the Geneva Conventions (1949). Such tactics include cutting off water, food and electricity, forcing residents to flee. Those who remain are exposed to heavy air and ground bombardment and “free fire zone” risks. Seizure of medical facilities and interference with provision of medical assistance have also been common in these assaults.

Further the US forces and the private contractors did little to give aid and comfort to those Iraqi citizens who were suffering due to the occupation. For some unknown reason the US forces did not feel it was their duty to give medical aid to wounded or sick Iraqi citizens which under the Geneva Conventions is one of the primary duties of an invading and occupying force. As the saying goes If you break it then you own it or at least need to take care of the damages which are your responsibility. After starting a war that has killed some one million Iraqis the Americans under the Bush Regime supported by the Neoconservatives and ultraconservatives have tried to lay the blame for the mess in Iraq on the Iraqi people who are in fact the real victims. The country in general is worse of than it was under the rule of Saddam.

Anyway lets begin with one of my favorite songs to come out of this conflict. Hopefully America will get out of Iraq as soon as possible and turn over its MEGA- Embassy to the Iraqi government . If they do not then it will mean that America intends to control the nation of Iraq for decades to come as the British did with their Mega-Complexes and fortifications in India from the 18th century to 1949 when they were finally forced to leave.

" Iraq :The War Card The 935 Lies/ False Pretenses" Center For Public Integrity

Following 9/11, President Bush and seven top officials of his administration waged a carefully orchestrated campaign of misinformation about the threat posed by Saddam Hussein's Iraq.

By Charles Lewis and Mark Reading-Smith
January 23, 2008

President George W. Bush and seven of his administration's top officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, made at least 935 false statements in the two years following September 11, 2001, about the national security threat posed by Saddam Hussein's Iraq. Nearly five years after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, an exhaustive examination of the record shows that the statements were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses.

On at least 532 separate occasions (in speeches, briefings, interviews, testimony, and the like), Bush and these three key officials, along with Secretary of State Colin Powell, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, and White House press secretaries Ari Fleischer and Scott McClellan, stated unequivocally that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (or was trying to produce or obtain them), links to Al Qaeda, or both. This concerted effort was the underpinning of the Bush administration's case for war.

It is now beyond dispute that Iraq did not possess any weapons of mass destruction or have meaningful ties to Al Qaeda. This was the conclusion of numerous bipartisan government investigations, including those by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (2004 and 2006), the 9/11 Commission, and the multinational Iraq Survey Group, whose "Duelfer Report" established that Saddam Hussein had terminated Iraq's nuclear program in 1991 and made little effort to restart it.

In short, the Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information that it methodically propagated and that culminated in military action against Iraq on March 19, 2003. Not surprisingly, the officials with the most opportunities to make speeches, grant media interviews, and otherwise frame the public debate also made the most false statements, according to this first-ever analysis of the entire body of prewar rhetoric.

and so it goes,
GORD.
