Sarah Palin Links 9/11 to Iraq: Republican Puppet Or Worse

Once again the Republicans through Sarah Palin are tying the War in Iraq with 9/11. Saddam & Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 yet many Americans still believe there was a connection and truth be damned. They are like the conspiracy theory believers who tie the 9/11 tragedy to the Illuminati or a Black Flag operation of the Pentagon or the White House. Conspiracy theorists merely create a distraction from the truth. Both groups are unable or unwilling to accept the reality. A small group of fanatics mange to organize a scheme to bring down the Twin Towers. It was also not a vast conspiracy involving dozens of Islamic dominated nations or as far as we know it was not even sanctioned & financed by even one Islamic nation.

Sarah Palin Links Iraq to 9/11, ByJohn Nichols, The Nation. Sept. 12, 2008

But there is no question that, a full five years ago, the Bush administration had explicitly rejected any suggestion that it was appropriate to link the Iraq mission to September 11.
Yet, on the seventh anniversary of attacks on New York and Washington that were never legitimately linked to Saddam Hussein or Iraq, Sarah Palin was telling soldiers headed for Iraq that they are part of "the broad conflict that began seven years ago today."
Palin also told the troops: "America can never go back to that false sense of security that came before September 11, 2001."
Fair enough.
But isn't Palin creating a "false sense of security" by suggesting that the Iraq fight is an appropriate or meaningful response to 9/11? And isn't it unsettling that, as the United States prepares to see off a vice president who got in trouble for peddling fantasies regarding Saddam and terrorism, the Republican nominee to replace Dick Cheney sounds an awfully lot like, er, Dick Cheney?

Sarah Palin and the Separation of Church & State
Palin believes she is being directed by God. Are her policies then directed by God.
Her church believes that Gays- Homosexuals can be cured. WTF through faith in the Lord and a lot of praying.

Rachel Maddow takes a look at Sarah Palin's interview on ABC News with John Gibson and her earmark comments. Joan Walsh from Salon weighs in and pretty well shreds Palin and the talking points coming out of the campaign and how backwards their messaging is

legislation to allow tortured US Soldiers to sue Iraq but Bush threatens to veto Bill
Is Bush concerned that those who have been tortured by American personnel (at Abu Ghraib & Gitmo etc.) will try to sue America.
But as Sarah Palin would say God has willed that Americans be permitted to ues torture whenever they deem it necessary or just for fun.

Is Sarah Palin the more powerful person compared to McCain. But the problem with this issue is that given Cheney's role in the Bush Regime many would conclude that Cheney along with others have more often set policy than did Bush. So possibly it is more of the same .

Ellen Goodman argues in her article that Feminist should be wary of voting for a woman just because she's a woman . Rather it should matter what that woman stands for and what her politics , political opions and her policies would be which should be the deciding factors.
Sisterhood of the Flummoxed Female Voters by Ellen Goodman Sep. 17,2008 at TruthDig.com

During this primary, Democratic women were often divided by generation. Many edgy conversations and strained family dinners took place between older women supporting Hillary and younger women supporting Obama. Mothers thought daughters had abandoned the women’s movement. Daughters told mothers they’d been liberated to vote for the person, not the gender.
Now, with enough suddenness to cause whiplash, many of these mothers have taken up the cry of their daughters: “I want a woman in the White House, but not this woman.” Republicans are fighting for admission credentials to the sisterhood.

After all, Sarah Palin may yet be the fulfillment of an old feminist prophecy that Texan Sissy Farenthold once described with her tongue firmly planted in her cheek. We will have achieved equality the day mediocre women take their place beside mediocre men. Check that one off the to-do list.

also check out article by Patricia J. Williams in which she discusses how Sarah Palin is like a massed produced product or an Andy Warhol creation.

and so it goes,
GORD.
